So what did the TV faultfinders make of the show’s first trip?
The Guardian – Sam Wollaston
“It’s not a calamity. It’s cleaned, the tricks (so large portions of them!) are fun, the changes are enhancements. Be that as it may, it is a disgrace there wasn’t more in the method for reviving the show itself. It’s simply new individuals doing same old same old.
“Whatever remains of the new cast we haven’t seen enough – or any – of yet. Matt LeBlanc ought to bear on being Matt LeBlanc, he’s very great at it. Chris Evans needs to unwind and quit attempting to be Jeremy Clarkson. Both are extremely willing to flaunt their auto geek qualifications, probably to fight off a portion of the crowd vitriol.”
